Paws Up Projects

Humane Society of Harford County

About the Organization:

The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., is located in Fallston, MD (just outside of Baltimore) and is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the welfare and well-being of the approximately 2,500 animals that come to us each year.

Fun Fact:

We are an open-admissions shelter which means that we accept all kinds of animals from our community including not just dogs and cats, but also small & furry animals like rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets; reptiles (think turtles, snakes & iguanas); and farm animals like goats, pigs and even chickens!

Proposed Project: Organize a Supply Drive

Project Description:

A wonderful way that you can help shelter workers take care of all the animals is to organize a supply drive in your neighborhood, at school, or at your parents' work! Simply print the list of our most-needed items (you may want to print multiple copies to display on or near your collection box), decorate a large cardboard box to collect all those supplies, and display it in a high-trafficked area. When the box is full, bring all the supplies you've collected to the shelter and pose for a photo for our social media (if you're allowed). You can also stay and walk around to see all the animals you're helping!

Delivery Instructions:

We have a cart you can borrow. Simply come inside during our business hours: Monday-Friday from 11-6, Saturdays from 10-5, and Sundays from 11-4 and tell our staff you have donations to drop off. Thanks for supporting the animals at the shelter!
