I came up with this idea to raise money for our local animal shelter because kids at school love animals and also love getting something on Valentine’s Day. I decided to sell candy packs that kids could buy ahead of time and have delivered to friends on Valentine’s Day at school. I put together some sample candy packs that I displayed during lunch and had kids pay and write a little note to a friend. I kept track on a clipboard making sure I had the person’s full name and what class they had during 5th period so I knew where to deliver the candy to.
Valentine’s Day Fundraiser
Biggest Takeaway:
- This was hard work, but worth it! My friends and classmates and even teachers really got into this project and supported it.
Biggest Challenge
- There was a lot to do and keep track of. If I did this again I would have at least 3 more kids help me.
Project Impact:
- It was a big success! I raised $380 that I split and donated to FAAS and ICRA. Everyone had fun sending and receiving the candy to help animals!
