Paws UP to 2nd and 3rd grade elementary students for reading to shelter pets at Jacksonville Humane Society. Kids also toured the Humane Society and learned about the shelter and the their adoptable pets.

Biggest Takeaway:
- Students had a unique opportunity to interact with shelter pets and practice their reading skills.
Biggest Challenge
- This special fieldtrip had some sponsorship which helped with the transportation. If you’d like to take your students/club to your local shelter consider reaching out to nearby businesses/foundations for transportation sponsorship.
Project Impact:
- Definitely a day these kids and their teachers/chaperones will never forget! Interacting and learning about the needs of shelter pets is priceless.
