A group from our Animal Care and Welfare elective class wanted to do a fundraiser for our local animal shelter. We decided that we would raise money by having a bake sale along with coffee and hot cocoa at our middle school’s STEAM night. We knew parents as well as families would be attending so we figured we could raise a lot of money.
Pastries For Pets
Biggest Takeaway:
- We had a lot of fun getting ready for the bake sale- we named it “Pastries for Pets”. We were able to get a nearby Starbucks to donate coffee and got hot cocoa from our cafeteria. We had fun brainstorming ways to promote our fundraiser and working together.
Biggest Challenge
- One challenge was deciding who would be bringing or baking what cookie/cake/baked good. Also, we gave out a “fun fact” about pets w/each sale so making that list took some research.
Project Impact:
- We are so proud that we raised a little over $400 for FAAS! We know the money will help feed and shelter pets looking for their forever home.
