Students at Wood Middle School in Alameda made cards for Volunteer Appreciation Day at Oakland Animal Services. Each card was “from” an animal who had been adopted from Oakland Animal Services. Oakland Animal Services supplied us with pictures of each adopted animal. Every volunteer received a special card and it was a big hit!
Celebrating Animal Shelter Volunteers
Biggest Takeaway:
- Students had so much fun looking at pictures and reading bios of adopted animals. Taking what they learned and writing a note in the pets’ voice was really fun.
Biggest Challenge
- Deciding who would write each card. We were asked to do this project in a very short amount of time, but worked together, and got it done!
Project Impact:
- This project benefitted so many staff and volunteers in a positive way. We understand it was very touching and was the highlight of the shelter volunteer appreciation day ♥️
