When Ella was 12 years old she wrote an ordinance to ban cat declawing in the city of Alameda, California. And, she got it passed! It took time, research, communication and reaching out to advocates. Ella reached out to the Founder of The Paw Project, a national organization focused on educating the public about why declawing is inhumane. She also sought out and worked with a city council member who shared her concerns. Ella persevered, worked through many challenges and ultimately helped protect many cats in Alameda.
